Online Casino moving Headquarters to Ireland
23 Aug 2006
An American company providing technology infrastructure to online casinos has decided to move its headquarters from the US to Ireland. The company claims that the legal issues in America that are making the future of online casinos there uncertain were among the reasons for moving. The company in question, which provides the software for Full Tilt Poker and is not an online casino itself, will create 200 new jobs in Dublin, Ireland. The legal status of online gaming like Full Tilt Poker is murky in the United States, and moving to Ireland is considered a legally safer bet.

The United States House of Representatives passed the Internet Gambling Prohibition Enforcement Act not long ago in order to better control online gambling the United States. In addition, recent arrests and indictments of executives and owners of a specific online casino and companies connected to it in the United States for fraud, racketeering and illegal betting have made the US an unstable location for online casinos and companies associated in any way with online gambling. Therefore, the company behind the online gambling game Full Tilt Poker are moving away from US soil.

The company, that will continue providing software for online casinos, is already looking for staff in Ireland, while other staff members have been moved there with the company. Ireland has a good reputation for being able to provide well trained and well-educated staff . The company will hire many of these Irish graduates for its work in online gambling technology. Online casinos will continue to benefit from this company even though it is moving.
